Ilene Lesser, a dedicated and longtime baby cuddler at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, was recently recognized in a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review volunteerism story.

Here is her snippet:

Ilene Lesser, a retired elementary school teacher, loves to get personable as one of the 14 "Cuddlers" at Magee-Womens Hospital in Oakland. For 30 hours a week she holds, rocks, swings, caresses and sings to babies in the nursery.

"The parents feel so much better knowing someone is there to love and give attention to their child when they can't be there," said Lesser, 61, of Edgewood. "I make sure they get the care and love they need."
