As part of their professional program, Dr. Evgeny Zharov, deputy director of the Russian Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences; and Dr. Alexander Smolyaninov, chief executive officer, Center of Cell and Gene Therapy, St. Petersburg, toured the hospital and Magee-Womens Research Institute, where they met with representatives of research teams and clinical programs.

The visitors attended a luncheon hosted by Debbi Linhart, president and CEO, Magee-Womens Research Institude & Foundation, and W. Allen Hogge, MD, Milton Lawrence McCall Professor and chair, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.
