Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) offers the Clinical Trainee Research Award (CTRA). The award has been established to:
  • Provide financial support for the research activities of residents and clinical fellows based at Magee-Womens Hospital.
  • Promote research education for residents and fellows by training them to prepare and write grant applications that include a hypothesis, a study design (including sample size justification), a budget, and a method for protecting research subjects.
  • Enhance MWRI’s research program through training in research and scientific publications.

To achieve these goals, the research proposal must be written by the resident or fellow under faculty guidance. The commitment of a faculty member to ensure the quality of research and successful completion of the research, including a full report on the results, is essential.

Awards total a maximum of $3,500 each.
